The Stoughton Police Department offers a drug take back location for residents to dispose of unwanted or unused prescription medications.

Residents can come to the Stoughton Police Station 24/7 to dispose of their unwanted or unused prescription medications, which will be safely disposed of so they will never get into the wrong hands. There is a medication drop box and a needle drop box located in the lobby.

Residents should be cautious when disposing of medications and double check they are being placed in the correct box. (Needles are prohibited from the medication box, and medication is prohibited from the needle box)

This program offers residents a safe way to dispose of addictive mediations. According to the 2019 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, in 2019 alone an estimated 9.7 million people misused prescription pain relievers, 4.9 million people misused prescription stimulants and 5.9 million people misused prescription tranquilizers or sedatives.
