Officer Steven Camara and K-9 Bator
Officer Camara and K-9 Bator are responsible for conducting specialized duties which include firearms detection, tracking suspects or missing persons, apprehending fleeing and/or resisted suspects, and other law enforcement related activities.
Officer Camara was appointed to the Stoughton Police Department in 2014. After graduating from the Boston Police Academy, Officer Camara was assigned to the 4PM-12 AM shift.
Since then he has worked as part of the department’s Safety Officer, field training officer, and patrol officer.
Canine Bator hails from the Shallow Creek Kennel of Sharpsville, PA. He is a 2 year old German Shepard who was bred in Hungary. He attended a 6-week patrol certification program and is trained in all levels
of patrol tactics. K-9 Bator is also certified in firearms detection.
A police K-9 must maintain certifications by attending a minimum of 16 hours of in-service training per month. Bator is certified and trained by our law enforcement partners in the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council (MetroLEC) under the leadership of Officer Geoff Lucas of the Randolph Police Department. Bator is also nationally certified through the North American Police Working Dog Association.
